Decisions on border processing levies

The Government has agreed settings changes for Customs Border Processing Levies.
Proposed new Customs’ levy rates, along with new cap settings, are laid out in the table below. They will apply from 1 December 2024 and end on 30 June 2027. These will be set by the Chief Executive of the New Zealand Customs Service before 1 December 2024.
Final rates will be set out in the New Zealand Gazette, once notified by the Chief Executive.

As signalled in consultation, the Ministry for Primary Industries is proposing to keep the existing biosecurity levy rates. As a result, their Levy Order will not change (refer Levy rates set by the Director-General and notified in the New Zealand Gazette | NZ Government (mpi.govt.nz)
