New Zealand Traveller Declaration

Everyone travelling into New Zealand needs to complete a New Zealand Traveller Declaration (NZTD).

The NZTD collects travel, customs, immigration and biosecurity information and aims to improve the safety and security of New Zealand.

You will need to answer questions about your trip and what you are bringing into New Zealand.

It is free, and you can start your digital declaration at a time that suits you. The earliest you can submit it is 24 hours before you start your trip to New Zealand.

You need to submit your digital declaration by the time the cruise ship has arrived at its first port in New Zealand. The earliest you can submit your declaration is 24 hours before you depart the last international port before you travel to New Zealand.

You can do it online at www.travellerdeclaration.govt.nz/cruise or on the NZTD app.

Available in large print format and six languages for cruise, the traveller factsheet is available on the New Zealand Traveller Declaration website.
