Pacific Agreement on Closer Economic Relations Plus (PACER Plus) enters into Force on 13 December 2020

The other countries that have ratified the Agreement along with New Zealand are: Australia, Samoa, Kiribati, Tonga, Solomon Islands, Niue and the Cook Islands. Nauru, Tuvalu and Vanuatu have signed but not yet ratified the Agreement. PACER Plus will not apply to these countries until they have ratified the Agreement.

PACER Plus builds on existing trade agreements: the non-reciprocal South Pacific Regional Trade and Economic Cooperation Agreement (SPARTECA) [1980] and the original PACER framework agreement [2001].
