Cancelling unused deferred payment accounts over 2 years

Revenue Management has undertaken a review of broker and client deferred accounts that have been inactive for two (2) or more years.
On 29 May 2023 these inactive accounts will be cancelled.
Account holders that are affected, can contact the team for further enquires: revenue@customs.govt.nz.
Importers can apply for a new deferred payment account with Customs. A deferred account assists with shipments being cleared quicker and the duty liability is deferred to the 20th of the month. Set up your deferred account (customs.govt.nz).

New Zealand banks have confirmed that on the 27th May 2023 payments to and from New Zealand banks will be processed seven days a week, including weekends and public holidays.
Customs would like to advise our deferred clients that direct debit due dates will remain the same and collected the next working day on or after the 20th of each month.
